My Ignorant Bliss

When I have piles of work to get done, or a mailbox full of messages -- these are some places I like to go to get away from it all.

    Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome

    Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome - 5

    900 S. 5th St. - Minneapolis (Downtown)

I'm a huge baseball fan, so rounding up some friends and heading to a Twins game is a must. And if you've never had a Dome Dog, you don't know what your missing.

    Casper and Runyon's Nook - 5

492 S Hamline Ave - Saint Paul (Highland)

Ignoring the moment the molten hot cheese from the center of the burger dripped onto my hand: One of the best burgers I have had in a while.

    5-8 Club

    5-8 Club - 0

    5800 Cedar Ave. S. - Minneapolis (Nokomis)

The history behind this place is pretty cool and the food is just as good. (And cheap!)

    Wasabi Sushi Fusion

    Wasabi Sushi Fusion - 5

    903 Washington Ave. S. - Minneapolis (Downtown)

The VERY first place I ever tried sushi. And I've gone back numerous times -- the waitstaff is very knowledgable and helpful, even suggesting what new menu item I should "brave this time."

Park Tavern Bowling & Entertainment Center

Park Tavern Bowling & Entertainment Center - 0

3401 Louisiana Ave. So. - St. Louis Park

A nice alternative to the downtown scene -- and a pretty decent bowling alley and back bar, complete with darts!

    Axel's Bonfire on Grand

    Axel's Bonfire on Grand - 0

850 Grand Ave. - St Paul (Cathedral Hill)

Random fact that I find hilarious: One of the piano players looks like Prince. If you know who I mean -- isn't it freaky?! If not, check him out, he knows when to throw in a cover of "Little Red Corvette"

Drowning your sorrows

Certainly there are no shortage of party places or people in our fair city. But let's say you're just not feeling the glitter and strobe lights. Is your will to live roughly equal to the panhandling change you made today? These are your dives.

Who says theater's only for old folks?

When you're sick of always going to the movies or the same old bars, come check out Orlando's artsy side by taking in some live theater.
