The pitch: Comedy about a talk show host and self-help author who, unsurprisingly, could use a little help herself.
Why we think they didn’t pick it up: Seems that 42-year-old Lauren Graham is just too young and fresh for ABC this season. The network opted for older-skewing comedies starring Kelsey Grammer and Patricia Heaton (apparently, no one at the net saw the abysmal “Back to You” on Fox last year) as well as Courteney Cox’s “Cougar Town.”
