Greater Orlando Actors Theatre presents the ultimate schizoid musical drama, "Jekyll & Hyde," just in time for Halloween. "Jekyll & Hyde" is a Broadway musical based on the classic novel "The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde" by Robert Louis Stevenson. Gothic Victorian costumes, smoldering affairs and a score of powerful Broadway pop ballads make this wildly popular musical irresistibly dark.
The original stage conception was by Steve Cuden and Frank Wildhorn. The music was composed by Wildhorn and the lyrics were written by Leslie Bricusse.
The show opened on Broadway on April 28, 1997 and ran for 1,543 performances, closing on January 7, 2001. It is the longest-running show in the history of the Plymouth Theatre.
Notable actors who appeared as the lead in various versions of the show include Colm Wilkinson, Sebastian Bach, Jack Wagner and David Hasselhoff.
