Who are Hub 51 owners R.J. and Jerrod Melman, and why should you care, you ask? Well, they’re the sons of Richard Melman, founder and chairman of the board of Lettuce Entertain You Enterprises, whose restaurant portfolio includes everything from high-end L20 to fast-food fave Wow Bao. At the younger Melmans' new American spot in River North, look for an “urban and industrial space" and a broad menu covering everything from seafood and sushi to tacos and burgers. Sample dishes include Scottish salmon with fennel and baby spinach, mesquite-rubbed pulled pork tacos on house-made tortillas and an open-faced BLT with blue cheese and herb vinaigrette.
