Atmosphere:
Natura at UCF has quickly built a following with students looking for a place off the beaten path. It's a breeding ground for emerging musicians, artists, poets and political activists. The laid-back atmosphere of this independent coffeehouse creates a place for people to express themselves.
On any given day of the week you will find students with laptops doing homework, meeting with friends or just finding a place to relax. The crowd isn't exclusive to students though. Open mic night, game night and a jazz jam attract all kinds of people. Everyone is there just to have a good time.
Speed & Signal:
The wi-fi at Natura is reliable and quick. No matter how many people are there, the connection is easy to access. Other networks from shops in the same strip are password protected, so don't think you can easily hop onto the "HolySpirit" connection from Catholic Campus Ministry Offices or the Quick Drop UCF next door.
Snacks:
The beverage menu at Natura is extensive, ranging from coffee drinks and tea to beer and wine. There is enough to try something new every time you go. The newest addition to the menu are the 20 flavors of hookah.
Natura serves Café Britt coffee from Costa Rica, a high-quality coffee that has different roasts for all coffee lovers, including organic. The tea selection is quite large and includes black, green, oolong and caffeine-free choices.
Being hopeful for cool, breezy weather, I decided to sip on one of my favorites: a caramel apple cider ($2.75 for a medium). The sweet flavor is topped off with a dollop of whipped cream.
Satisfaction:
Natura always hits the right nerve whether I'm there alone for a relaxing afternoon or with friends to enjoy open mic night. The drinks are delicious and the company is even better.
Natura is at 12078 Collegiate Way in Orlando. Call 407-482-5000.
