Atmosphere:
Okay, yes, Jr’s Attic Door is a rather ominous
name for a coffee shop, so just get the giggles out now. Once you enter,
however, you’re welcomed into one of Winter Garden’s most sumptuous
atmospheres. Dark wood, heavy draperies, and low lights contribute to the
feeling of being in a theater set for high drama. Sitting on the plush leather
couch next to the faux-fireplace while snacking on brie ought to make you feel
at least a little guilty about whipping out the laptop.
Speed & Signal:
The Attic Door has a secured 802.11g connection
that you have to ask the staff the password for. You’ll be handed a dog-eared
slip of paper with the code, and away you go. However, with the decorations and
planned activities you may be too distracted to really get anything done on the
internet.
Snacks:
Wine and coffee is the game at Jr’s Attic Door.
They pride themselves on their wide selection of unique wines and tasty snacks.
Most munchies are from $6 to $8, and wines are about $5 and up. I tried the
baked brie, topped with almonds and dried fruit and served with stone ground
crackers. It was a delicious snack, but made my fingers a little too greasy for
computer-things (a dirty laptop is a sad laptop).
Jr’s Attic Door is a lovely spot to come and
soak in some ambient charisma while enjoying a fresh cup of coffee, but may not
be the most appropriate place to build up your Second Life avatar.
