Atmosphere:
After being adequately confounded by the difficult-to-interpret parking signs, you'll find yourself in a loose tea shop populated by folks who really know their leaves. The decorations and settings all declare the importance of infusion, meaning if you let the tea become one with your body you'll be a better person. Just humor them and you'll be tea-ed up and online in no time.
Speed & Signal:
Infusion Tea's 802.11b (that's 11 Mbps to you non-nerds) connection is WPA-encrypted, so you have to ask one of the staff for the password (warning: password may cause eye-rolling). The signal is strong, but it took me a good long while to connect to the finicky router, so be prepared to sip tea and pretend you're updating your MySpace account.
Snacks:
Tea comes in many sizes from $3 for one cup, $5.25 for a two-fer and $6.50 if you're going to be a while and need four. There are too many teas to list here (they barely have enough space on their menu), but every one is lovingly (perhaps obsessively) described on their menu. I tried the Orange Flower Oolong, which arrived at my table on a fairly intricate tea set, complete with sugar cubes, jar of honey, and tea timer with three separate bulbs for varying steeping times. The tea was lovely, too. Also available are different vegetarian snacks and sandwiches between $5 and $8, many of which are prepared with hummus.
Satisfaction:
Aside from the frustrating initial connection, Infusion Tea has a great atmosphere for spending time on the net and nerding out with the staff about tea.
Infusion Tea is at 1520 Edgewater Drive in Orlando. Call 407-999-5255.
