RESTAURANTS: The Globe closes its kitchen
... and I am in mourning. There are very few places downtown I really enjoy going. When I go out, I'm all about the food not the drinking (although that doesn't mean I won't be ordering a martini to wash that food down with). So today, when Kelly, our bars editor, tells me The Globe has closed their kitchen while they develop a new concept for the restaurant/bar, I begin to question all that is holy in the world.
If you've never eaten lunch or stopped by for the weekday happy hour, count yourself lucky, now you don't know what you're missing. No word yet on what their plans are, but I'm sure Kelly will be reporting any updates as she hears them. In the meantime, you can still stop by on Friday and Saturdays, but other than those days and special events, The Globe is closed. I'll be eagerly waiting to hear what the Wall St. team has planned — as long as the menu includes such fine cuisine as sweet potato fries and pot stickers, I'll be there to check it out.
