Overall rating:

Bottom line - $5.00 for two-thirds of a domestic draft. Entered a very nice pool deck area behind the restaurant and sat at the outdoor bar overlooking a family friendly pool area. I ordered a domestic draft and got a pint cup with one-third being foam. $3.75 said the server and no apology for the short pour. Change for my five dollar bill was returned before I took my first sip and turned toward the pool. I realized that my buck and a quarter change were removed by the server before I had a chance to take my second sip. This either reflects management’s attitude or poor supervision. I had returned to the site for the first time since the nineties. A former tenant was a food favorite of my parents. Won’t return.

Overall rating:

The Captain's Cove aka Otters is a St.Johns river hot spot. If you have a boat or not you have to see the out of the way hidden in the trees local gem of a restaurant, and bar. If you want to find a friend there is a tight group that goes there daily and they are always happy to say hello!! The menu is resonable, the food is great, the drinks are awsome. There is no reason not to go and see what happens everyday... Weekends are packed full and the LIVE bands play all day rain or shine!!! :)

I'm a regular there and always see new and old faces!!! I'ts a great place to go hang out at and the servers are great. There fun and outgoing, not like other restraunts were employment looks like they want to be somewhere else. They great you with great energy and spunk, and keep smiles on everyones face all threw out the day. I strongly recomend this laid-back, classy yet casiual, energy packed, and full of excitment bar and lounge.

Phenominal Pool Bar... Great Atmosphere

We headed to the Captain's Cove in Sanford (It is where Otters used to be). It is located in the Port of Sanford and is part of the Boat Tree Marina. People I have to tell you this......This is the Greatest Bar I Have Been to in A While !!!!! The service was A+++++ (our server was Michelle), the whole staff was attentive, the food was great, they have a pool for the kids to go in (we will be prepared with bathing suits next time), the atmosphere was Florida casual, they had a great music act (from Watertown NY no less) and the other patrons were fun to hang out with. The place was a 20 on a scale of 10.

Beautiful dining room, awesome pool side bar with music, and a fun filled easy going crowd! WHAT's NOT TO LOVE!!! I can not rave enough about this place!!! The food was fantastic! I am planning to throw a bridal luncheon for a family member here at the end of August, because I love the place so much!!

Just tried this place out a few weeks ago! What a great place! The atmosphere was so laid back but elegant in the dining room. After dinner we went out side and had a few drinks around the pool bar and listened to some music. What a family friendly place!!! We are going back again soon!!!

We waited too long for the margaritas. Then we got the wrong appetizer and my dinner order was wrong too.

Food was good, but the service was the WORST I have ever seen.

The first time in this restaurant we did not have a good experience also, but since they were re-opening we thought they were a little desorganized. We wanted to give them another try and went again. Endless to say, that was the last time visiting that restaurant.

The food was cold and not what we ordered. The only person that was interested in the matter was the manger Steve. The chef Kam looked stressed and, his coat was dirty. He didn't seem to care about his food. My wife also watched food touch the floor and, then was picked up and cooked. I would not recommend this restaurant. They are poorly organized. I would recommend new mangent. We will not revisit this resaurant.

We went for Valentine's Day when they had a 'special menu'. We chose the'Land & Sea' main dish. The petite steak as well as the lobster tail were cooked perfectly, tender and so flavorful. The sides, salad and dessert were devine and had such a lovely presentaion. It was a little too bright in there to be considered romantic, but they had a special touch-rose pedals on the table, candlelight and a gentlemen singing love songs. It was a great experience Glad we didn't miss this place !

I found the food exceptional. Steak Oscar was great and reasonably priced. Appetizers were different and very delicious. Atmosphere is classy, but very comfortable. Management( Steve Niemeyer)was very attentive and showed interest in my enjoyment of the food. Server "Cooper" was exceptional in her service and attentiveness. I highly recommend this restaurant and plan to visit often.
