Some like it hot

In 1984, during a Duran Duran hiatus, guitarist Andy Taylor and bassist John Taylor went off and formed the group Power Station with ex-Chic drummer Tony Thompson and blues-rock singer Robert Palmer. Aside from an ill-fated reunion project in 1997, the group released only one album in 1985, but it spawned two massive hits: "Some Like It Hot" and a cover of T. Rex's "Get It On (Bang a Gong)."
A side project featuring the other three members of Duran Duran, called Arcadia, was far less successful. Simon Le Bon himself later called Arcadia's one record "the most pretentious album ever made."
