MUSIC: Got Floss? The Chicago duo spins for J.E.S.U.S.
Flosstradamus

The DJ duo of Curt Cameruci and Josh Young, better known as Flosstradamus, have an uncanny ability to capture an audience with four turntables, a wide array of music tastes and those dirty, sexy beats I love so very much. For the opening night of J.E.S.U.S. Rulz at Club Icon, the boys grace Orlando with their presence alongside Kid Sister, but not without a few words to say about the tourist capital.

How do you guys like Orlando?
Curt: I love Orlando- there's no liking in Orlando, it's all lovin'.
Josh: Yeah, we both have a lot of fun down here.
Curt: Always.

You just played a show in Miami, which is a completely different club scene. What's the difference from your perspective?
Curt: There are just more fans here, there're more dedicated kids that will go out and have a really, really good time. It's more like a party there, and here, the kids are just more dedicated.
Josh: Kids definitely let loose here more than they do in Miami.
Curt: And there's a little more diversity here than what we've seen coming through. In the race, in the sexual orientation...it's pretty cool.
Josh: I like that about Orlando.
Curt: We see it in Chicago; it's back home a lot, and that's why we like it here, it reminds us of home.
Josh: This is definitely one of the more diverse places that we've played.

How does it feel to be the lead act of the opening night of this club night that was basically created to revive the indie dance scene of Orlando?
Curt: That's what we do, and what we like to do. We have people out here, like Mike Feinberg killing it here. That's why we're so stoked to come down here.
Josh: Like we were saying earlier, every show that we've done here has been really, really fun.
Curt: And diverse!
Josh: It's cool and I feel like we're privileged to be a part of this, and hopefully it's going to be a great show.

How would you define yourself in a particular genre? Your style of music can't really be put in a specific place, so how do you think it's going to progress?
Curt: The whole term genre is kind of played out in this day and age. Look at everyone, I'm sure you have an iPod that has more than one type of music or song on it, and it's tons of different types of music. There might be a dance song, or there might be like a slow song and a smooth song and a rock song and even a metal song, who knows? But that's what's going on. And that's what goes on with us, my iPod has stuff on it... I have everything from metal to old school, and we kind of cater to that. When we create music and when we play music, we listen to music. There isn't a boundary, really. A lot of people say that we're mash-up and things like that , but they're trying to put a genre to what we do and what the era is, and it just doesn't matter.

Any last words to the fans?
Curt: I want to say that we love Orlando. Every time we come here it's nothing but love. A shout out to Mike Feinberg, holding it down here, holding it down worldwide.
Josh: Thank you so much. Very rarely do you come to a city for the first time and have an amazing show. We came to Firestone not knowing what to expect... and I had never been to Orlando before. I had literally no clue what it was like. We went to the venue [Firestone]  and were like "This place is humongous, no one knows us here yet, this place is going to be empty." It was packed. Kids dance their hearts out, and it was so much love.
