If you’re in the mood for a good laugh, then you’ll probably want to check out Skip Peril and The Players of the Lost Trunk by Hippity-Doo Productions. This high-energy, action-packed adventure combines Vaudeville, Shakespeare, pirates, film noir and a ton of costume changes as investigator Skip Peril tracks down the origins of a mysterious trunk, passed down from many generations of acting troupes. Watch Skip as he battles his arch nemesis Gorilla Face!
Journey to the Dark Side with The Boy’s Own Jedi Handbook by Massicotte & Kubersky Productions, which follows two boys as they discover the force, fall in love and star in the school play. Three actors perform the entire Star Wars trilogy, playing all of the characters, while switching back and forth from their elementary school production of You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown. Expect a light saber duel of mythic proportions.
The audience got some serious Sex Ed. with Oral by Kick the Puppy Productions (pictured at left), a play that explores the literal “ins and outs” of oral sex. An innocent young couple was sharing their excitement about having sex for the first time when the rest of the cast showed up to explain the complex workings of the female reproductive system. Even I was enlightened, and I have one of those.
Comic genius Mark Baratelli is performing Mark Baratelli.com, a one-man improvised comedy show made up completely on the spot. No two shows are the same, but every show is funny. Mark’s comedic prowess has made him a local legend and Fringe favorite.
