EVENTS: Brian Feldman uses The Force

Local performance artist Brian Feldman has never seen a StarWars film. I know what you're thinking, "That's a lie! That's impossible!" It's true, folks, somehow, in all his various years of existence, he is probably the one person who has managed to avoid viewing this epic sci-fi classic. It's a travesty, I know, but he's trying to make up for lost time with a knock down, drag out light saber duel on the lawn in Loch Haven Park during the last weekend of the Fringe Festival. I mean, who doesn't love a giant light saber battle? Choose your side, light or dark, grab a weapon, and join the duel.

Here are all the sordid details:

Who: Brian Feldman Projects (PILLOWLANDOsleepwalktxt)

What: Lightsaber Battle (for Chris) - Recognizing the 32nd Anniversary of a movie Brian Feldman has never seen (Yes, it’s true! Brian has never seen Star Wars!), this is your opportunity to take part in a massive nighttime lightsaber battle!

All interested participants should bring a working (i.e. battery-powered) lightsaber, either brand name, cheap imitation or self-built, to the base of John Henry’s 52' h. Drawing in Space: The Peninsula Project sculpture, “Chevron”, located outside Orlando Museum of Art, on the lawn of Orlando Loch Haven Park at 9:00 PM and wait for the signal. At that time, the lightsaber battle begins! (There will also be a designated area for those wishing to battle with iPhone Lightsaber apps: PhoneSaber (discontinued), Lightsaber Unleashed.)

About Me

Hi! My name is Sarah Lockard and I update the calendar for Metromix, so I'm always on the lookout for cool events happening in town. I like to do a lot of theater and go see as many shows as I can, but I also try to check out a lot of arts related events in the area, like festivals, local music, art shows, etc. Oh yeah, and I'm a really big comic book/sci-fi geek. My favorite graphic novel is "Transmetropolitan" and my favorite TV show is "Lost." Alright, talk to you later.
