Inside: Jax Fifth Ave. Deli & Ale House Lake Mary
If there is one thing the Orlando area needs more of it's beer. But not the kind that are served to you in a bucket no, no, those wonderful fermented concoctions from other parts of the world that taste so good you question your patriotism. Through some kind of magic (or madness) Jax Fifth Ave. has reproduced another bar for this very purpose, planting it not too far out of the way at 951 Greenwood Boulevard in Lake Mary.

Décor: If you're used to the location in College Park you're going to feel like Jax just won the lotto: the new place is huge. All light wood walls, bar, and seating, it feels a little like a ski lodge. There's enough seating for Jax to be both a bar and a restaurant without much fuss, except that it means there's no smoking inside (a fair trade for some delicious sandwiches). If your lungs need the sweet nicotine tickle, head out to the covered patio, which stretches along three whole sides of the building, which comes complete with TVs and a ridiculous amount of seating. Speaking of, Jax's interior has approximately 3400 televisions scattered about (okay, an exaggeration), many of them HDTV (awesomely true).

Drinks: Though liquor is also served, Jax has enough beer to keep you occupied for a while. There are sixty beers on tap (including Orlando Brewing's Blonde Ale) and over 300 varieties available. Thanks to the "Mugger Club" you can get your own personalized mug (and 25 cents off each beer served in said mug) for trying a mere 100 different kinds of beer. Sound easy? Try it, and good luck trying not to look dumbfounded at how long it took to hit fifty.

The prices are fair, but not necessarily cheap (which is understandable given the tricky economics of keeping fifteen-score beers available at all times), like Yuengling coming in at a reasonable $3.75 a pint, and Orlando Brewing Blonde Ale at $4.25. That's about the area you'll be paying in, so don't let your curiosity overtake your fiscal responsibilities (unless that happens to be getting yourself drunk go ahead then).

Sounds: A touchscreen jukebox with a lot of variety (but oft-played classic rock) sits in a far corner, meaning your song might be over by the time you cross the bar to get back to your seat, so best make your first choice a sacrificial one.

Service: Even on a Sunday night there's a full staff to encourage you to try different potables and then teach you how to pronounce them.

Crowd: A lot of 20-somethings drift into Jax, usually in groups of three or more. Which makes sense: if you attempt a Samichlaus (a 14 percent ABV Bavarian Bock) in one sitting, wouldn't you want witnesses? Or, at the very least, someone to drive you home?
