Inside: Jake and Micky s
College-centric bars tend to either celebrate the experience of being a reckless student ("What finals?") while others opt for a cleaner, more grown-up scene ("Which stock options?"). It's the latter scene that is set at Jake & Micky's at 11786 E. Colonial Dr. in Orlando, down the road from UCF. Here you'll mostly find slightly older-looking kids who thirst for martinis and don't consider T-shirts with Borat quotes "dressy."

Décor: As you enter, the enormous bar glimmers with liquor bottles and plentiful stools sprouting like rows of corn. Sounds of raucous conversation surround you while you walk on the gritty yet sticky grip of the floor. But your nose may be confused: there's no smoke in the air. Jake & Micky's has tipped the "restaurant" part of their bar in their favor to keep the place completely smoke-free. The only question is what do you do with the patrons who want to smoke? Unfortunately, Jake & Micky's hasn't figured that out yet, so smokers must puff away outside, leaning against a wall, while their drinks wait inside.

Food: Sandwiches and fried fare dominate the rather small menu. Wings, chicken fingers, burgers and "Irish" nachos are just some of what you'll find. The latter replacing nacho chips with tater tots. Prices are easy on your wallet, ranging from $3.99 - $10. Brunch is served every Sunday from 10:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m., where $12.50 nets you a full brunch menu and unlimited mimosas and Bloody Marys.

Drinks: Along with good food prices, Jake & Micky's offers really good drink prices too. Wells mixers are a mighty fine deal at $3 a pop, and with a satisfying pour to make sure you tip well. On tap you'll find Guinness and Yuengling at an acceptable $3 each. Car bombs are on sale for $5, Bacardi mojitos are $4, and you get a free drink for wearing a bikini (guys, even if this does apply to you too, ask yourself if it's worth it). Happy hour is 4:30 - 7:30 p.m. daily with $3 Guinness drafts, $2 Bud, Bud Light, and Miller Lite, $3 shooters, and $1 off premium drinks.

Service: The bar staff is friendly and quick, and some dress as eye candy to savor with your liquid meal.

Crowd: Though young, the bar brings in a fairly diverse group: young professionals, flirty college girls, older bikers, guys in do-rags, girls in baseball caps, people who wear sunglasses all the damn time, and those who want a cheap drink. Many of them seem to disperse early (around midnight or so), but on the plus side your wait time at the bar is even less.
