Actor-turned-rapper performs at LIV

We all love entertaining shenanigans. That said, we can’t say we showed much interest in actor-gone-hip-hop-flop Joaquin Phoenix’s March 11th performance over at LIV in the Fontainebleau Miami Beach. Rumors keep flying about Phoenix and brother-in-law Casey Affleck’s newest project: a mockumentary on the actor’s switch from the big screen to the studio. And in support of the gossip, we have yet to see the surfacing of Phoenix’s album—his 45-second mumble session on stage Wednesday night convinces us the prank is still intact. To cut his act short, Phoenix jumped off the platform and into what seemed like a staged tussle. At first, it seemed like an animated stage dive, but ended up being Phoenix’s ticket out, trimming his anticipated three-track set to a measly two verses. He could have been rapping "cucumber, watermelon" for all we know.
First tip: Phoenix should at least find a stage name to make things more believable. Anyhow, here are some memories from the latest edition of Poplife’s Dirty Hairy Wednesdays.
It’s going to take a lot for this Phoenix to rise back up from these ashes.
