ARTS: Dr. Sketchy this Wednesday
You know those recurring events that happen around town that make you go "That sounds awesome! I need to go!"? And then you don't go? Ever? I am guilty of this myself, mostly because I am that drunken moth forever attracted to the flickering flame of a $2 PBR, and thus tend to flake out on these sorts of things. But not this year - oh no, I made resolutions! I am going to get out and see more varied things! I love you, my regular bars, but I need to leave the nest every once in a while.
This Wednesday at Tatame Sake Lounge is the monthly Dr. Sketchy event for Orlando. Now, since I've never gone I don't know exactly what all goes down there, but it sounds cool enough. If you're an artist, come with your sketch pad and $5 and you get to draw a model or two throughout several different poses and costume changes, and interact with other local artists. If you've got the drawing skills of a earthworm (like me) then you're free to get in and you can watch the artists do their art and the model do her sexy standing thing.
The drawing starts at 7:45, and ends somewhere around 10 p.m. Apparently they'll have door prizes and wacky contests and other such things to keep you entertained. And it doesn't hurt that there's plenty of sake available. It's not the green fairy, but it should be enough to get your creative juices flowing anyway.
